Coelia Tayrona Yoga

Portrait of a yogini yoga teacher: Coelia

After practicing rhythmic gymnastics for around twenty years, Coelia started yoga for physical and sporting reasons.

However, her interest in practice and philosophy quickly evolved and she quickly trained to become a yoga teacher.
Share by moving your body and freeing your mind thanks to fluid, dynamic sequences and in a relaxed atmosphere, these are the watchwords of Coelia's classes!

It was only natural that I asked him a few personal questions about his yoga practice, which I am sharing with you today.

How did you get into taking care of yourself?

After practicing Rhythmic Gymnastics very intensely for more than 15 years, and having stopped because of going abroad, my body and my mind wanted to find this feeling of fullness specific to each passion.

Yoga then imposed itself quite quickly. In addition, I was a flight attendant with a very busy schedule, so it had become almost natural for me to want to preserve my health by taking care of myself.

What practice for your well-being?

Yoga first and foremost. Being able to find myself on this mat moving without thinking too much gives me an indescribable good.

Listen to music.

Read

Always make time for little pleasures (a bath, a manicure, a massage, etc.)

Travel. For me it’s essential!

What is the ritual of your practice?

It's never really the same, since it depends on my schedule.

By becoming a Yoga teacher, I unfortunately no longer have as much time for my personal practice, but as soon as I find a free moment, I roll out my mat, with music that inspires me and I let my body express itself.

What do you get out of it?

For a few minutes, my mind calms down… I find myself far from this hectic Parisian pace. Far from this social pressure and these constant judgments. I find myself there, simply being myself. Without expectations…

What do you carry in your yoga bag?

My Lululemon mat

My water bottle (I teach a lot at Yuj Yoga Studio in the heat, so I need to hydrate extra)

A massage oil to pamper my students.

A change of clothes (leggings, bra and crop top)

What is your favorite object/accessory?

Leggings! I think I have about forty of them :D

What would be your advice for Tayrona Yoginis?

To take the plunge.

To try, despite the stereotypes, the looks of others, to propel yourself for at least 60 minutes into this bubble that a Yoga practice can represent.

Perhaps also try to find the type of Yoga that suits you, try it out and define your own tastes.

And remember that perfect postures do not exist, everyone has their own pace, and it is never the appearance of the asanas that counts but the path taken which is all the more important.

Where/how do you practice?

With my favorite teachers:
Tatiana and Alexander at YUJ YOGA STUDIO
Benoit at YOGA VILLAGE
Manon at SIMONE
Alix at BROMANCE
Alexandra at BANDHA YOGA

I also love Sabrina's Yin which allows me to approach a gentler, more comforting practice.

What is your mantra/favourite phrase?

"We travel around the world looking for something and we come home to find it - George Moore"
Gayatri Mantra, sung by Deva Premal

Don’t hesitate to find her on her Instagram and on her blog .

Xavier Tayrona Yoga

Portrait of a yogi sensitive to energies: Xavier

Born in the 80s in the paradise of Annecy, Xavier grew up among cows and bourgeois while going mountain climbing and managing to avoid associating with either.

It was only around 2015 that he finished with the validation of his CNAM engineering diploma, the peristyle of his open-mindedness. Thus, it was around these years that his real training began and the unveiling of his true mission on his life path.

It was only natural that I asked him a few personal questions about his yoga practice, which I am sharing with you today.

How did you come to take care of yourself? ?

I finally came to understand that I had to take care of myself after hitting two big walls, at the end of a long gradation that I was not necessarily aware of, that is to say following a traumatic event in me and one in front of my face. I first had a herniated disc while I was writing my thesis as a computer engineer in business, there I understood things about illusions and the signals that the universe was sending all the time in fact, and that pain is a marker that indicates very clearly that something is wrong. A year later, I saw my mother die in front of my eyes and there I understood that I had to decondition myself to stop wasting my time and letting myself be scattered between the different illusions of this world. In my opinion, deconditioning allows us to reconnect with who we really are and in this the practice of Yoga is really ideal. For me it goes well beyond a simple physical practice since I find there all the sometimes advanced spiritual concepts that I have seen up to now.

What practice for your well-being?

Satiam Yoga for my well-being, I started Yoga 3 or 4 years ago in Ashtanga and I continue this practice which interests me more and more, following my meeting with great Yogis.

What is the ritual of your practice?

The ritual is meditation and core strengthening, combined with good breathing techniques.

What do you get out of it?

I get incredible benefits from it and the connection aligned to something greater than myself.

What do you carry in your yoga bag?

In my bag I have a mat and indigo shorts.

What is your favorite object/accessory?

My favorite accessory would be a 108 mala made from bodhi tree seeds (but I don't take it with me very often).

What would be your advice for Tayrona Yoginis?

For Yoginis: enjoy doing what you want because you are beautiful no matter what. "Practice and all is coming".

Where/how do you practice?

I practice in an ashram or outdoors on my terrace, or in places that inspire me. I am very sensitive to energies. I practice alone or in a group, it depends on the law of attraction.

What is your mantra/favourite phrase?

My mantra is Gayatri om buhr buvah svaha tat savitur varenyam bhargo devasya dimahi diyo yona prachodayat. I have always found myself on this frequency.

Laura Yoga Connect - Tayrona Yoga

Portrait of a Yogini: Laure, creator of Yoga Connect

Let me introduce you to Laure, the founder of YOGA Connect , the first online yoga class subscription platform in France!

She is 30 years old and has been practicing yoga for 10 years. To further her practice, she obtained her teacher's certificate a year ago.

It was only natural that I asked him a few personal questions about his yoga practice, which I am sharing with you today.

How did you get into taking care of yourself?

I started yoga when I was a student in Los Angeles: I immediately loved this practice, as soon as I left class I felt cleansed!

What practice for your well-being?

I practice vinyasa and yin: vinyasa when I need a boost, to tone up, to practice postures that challenge me… Yin is more in the evening or on the weekend: it's a moment of deep relaxation where I stretch and work on my patience (we hold the postures for several minutes)

I meditate every day: whether it's traditional meditation, or sometimes more simply by lighting a few candles and setting an intention for my day or to end it.

What is the ritual of your practice?

I don't really have a ritual: that's why I created YOGA Connect, because I love practicing at home, on vacation, whenever I want, for as long as I need. So my practice is quite variable! But I practice 3 to 5 times a week. My only ritual is to make sure that no one is going to disturb me!

What do you get out of it?

I always feel great afterwards: as if I had just taken a sea bath! Invigorated and clean from the inside.

What do you carry in your yoga bag?

My yoga mat, my palmarosa essential oil (natural deodorant) and my water bottle for my herbal tea or lemon water depending on the season!

What is your favorite object/accessory?

I have jewelry that I never take off, “gri-gri” gifts with a strong sentimental value.

What would be your advice for Tayrona Yoginis?

Practice a little every day, even just 5 minutes of breathing, you will see it become automatic, like brushing your teeth!

Where/how do you practice?

Everywhere, all the time, according to my needs, my desires, according to the time I have in front of me. My practice corresponds completely to YOGA Connect.

What is your mantra/favourite phrase?

“I can and I will”.
“Do everything with love”

Ophélie Tayrona Yoga

Portrait of a Yogini passionate about fitness: Ophélie

Let me introduce you to Ophélie, originally from Lyon. She works in communications and runs the blog Lotus & Bouche Cousue .

Her blog is the fruit of a passion for writing, better living and sharing. Her whole family comes from Lozère, a very rural department, which allowed her to grow up with the values of a healthy lifestyle and natural food, ultimately organic before organic!

It was only natural that I asked him a few personal questions about his yoga practice, which I am sharing with you today.

How did you come to take care of yourself?

I had an education that was quite focused on others, mutual aid, open-mindedness and with a fairly psychological approach to human nature because my parents work in these fields. All mixed with the notions of a balanced and sensible diet (but with a little too much butter perhaps!). It is quite naturally that the philosophy "Mens sana in corpore sano" motivated my way of life.

What practice for your well-being?

I practice fitness very regularly, it frees me. I feel such lightness at the end of the session, such mental comfort that I could not do without it. I discovered Vinyasa Yoga this year thanks to Solenne, co-founder of Bulle Yoga in Lyon. I really fell in love with this practice which relies a lot on core strengthening, a practice that I particularly like because it is non-traumatic for the body and formidable against little love handles! In the end, I did not find fitness and vinyasa yoga so far apart...

What is the ritual of your practice?

It's quite simple: always have a sports bag ready in the trunk of my car so that I can always practice even on days that were not initially planned! So every night before going to bed I repack my bag.

What do you get out of it?

I get a physical and psychological well-being that are inseparable. I feel relieved of tensions, I feel in control of my life, which for me is very important and a source of comfort. Finally, I must recognize that having a body in which I feel comfortable is also a real happiness.

What do you carry in your yoga bag?

Finally, my fitness bag and my yoga bag are identical! Except that for fitness I arm myself with a very motivating playlist. I am never without my water bottle that I force myself to empty at the end of the session.

What is your favorite object/accessory ?

Definitely a hair elastic! When I forget it I am in total distress!

What would be your advice for Tayrona Yoginis?

I am still a beginner in yoga. But I would generally advise each of the Tayrona Yogis to stop having limiting beliefs. One day, someone told me "it is not reality that limits you, it is the idea that you have of it" and that allowed me to change the window through which I observed my life.

Where/how do you practice?

I practice yoga today at Bulle Yoga in Lyon, after a day of work.

What is your mantra/ favourite phrase?

“Don’t be afraid to fail, be afraid to not try”

Portrait Carole - Tayrona Yoga

Portrait of a yogini mom blogger: Carole

Let me introduce you to Carole, a yoga teacher and blogger in her spare time.

Carole (aka Smootheries) is a thirty-something mom who runs the blog Smootheries . When she has a few hours to herself (which aren't very many, given that she likes to do a lot of activities!), she likes to update her blog around the themes of yoga and lifestyle. She teaches Vinyasa Yoga, as well as Yin Yoga in Paris. And since the beginning of 2018, she has chosen to leave her career in economic regulation and law to devote herself to her passion, teaching yoga.

It was only natural that I asked him a few personal questions about his yoga practice, which I am sharing with you today.

How did you get into taking care of yourself?

In 2008, I was starting my professional life and had just met my current partner, when, at the age of 24, I was diagnosed with cancer. At the time, I was living on pizza and steak tartare, smoking a lot and drinking gallons of coffee and beer. During my chemotherapy treatment, which lasted 9 months, and especially at the end of it, I discovered yoga, stopped smoking, and began to take an interest in the effects of diet and physical exercise on my health, my body and my morale. 10 years later, I am a sports instructor, yoga teacher, vegan… and I still enjoy wine!

What practice for your well-being?

Yoga! I like to combine complementary practices: I like Vinyasa Yoga above all, for its fluidity, freedom, and movement (even if I practiced Ashtanga Yoga and Vinyasa alternately for years before turning more frankly to Vinyasa), but I make sure to maintain a physical practice that is not yoga, because I do not want "my yoga" to become "my sport". I really like Circuit Training for that (I also teach an intensity called HIIT Yoga, in which we exert ourselves, we laugh, we do inversions, to be able to return more peaceful and without this need for energy expenditure to our yoga practice). I also practice and teach Yin Yoga, which allows, in my opinion, to reconnect with stillness, with oneself, far from the distractions of movement, postures, and even breathing. And then meditation, too, is essential for me (even if it’s sometimes only 3 minutes a day!).

What is the ritual of your practice?

When I still had an office life, I was 100% “Morning Yoga”: I would wake up earlier than everyone else at home, put on a pair of leggings, go to my mat in the living room and do between 15 and 60 minutes of yoga, depending on the morning. It could be very gentle yoga, or Ashtanga, or a Vinyasa adapted to my energy of the day.

Now that I devote myself to teaching, the ritual is harder to find: I regularly leave home at 6:45 am, regularly come home after 9 pm and my schedule is different every day of the week… so I don't have much of a ritual anymore, but I practice whenever I can! Some days, it's at 10 am between two classes, in a studio, others, after my daughter goes to bed at 8:30 pm in my living room, some still, 30 minutes at the end of the afternoon… I have tried to detach myself from the ritual, because unless I get up at 5 am (non-negotiable!) it is no longer possible for me, and I have to seize every opportunity to practice, when it presents itself!

What do you get out of it?

Without wanting to exaggerate, yoga has completely changed my life! I was an insomniac, not in great health, super anxious and Madame Impatience. Over the years, these characteristics obviously remain, they are part of me, but I feel much calmer, serene, composed, I never take more than 15 minutes to fall asleep and I just feel like I find fulfillment in everyday life, which I had trouble finding before.

What do you carry in your yoga bag?

A Yuj mat, a roll-on with essential oils, a bottle with water for after practice. And for teaching: my notebook, a small speaker for music, my phone for playlists.

What is your favorite object/accessory?

I am less and less attached to objects... but I don't practice without a clean, non-slip yoga mat (that is to say, I only use my mats, and never the ones on loan where I go, that's my manic side!).

What would be your advice for Tayrona Yoginis?

Take the time to find YOUR own practice: far from dogmas, standards, just do what feels good on your mat (or elsewhere). Not doing yoga because you feel like if you haven't done 1h30, it's useless, is a trap that we all succumb to one day, or because it's too hard, we're not flexible enough, or we're bored... By testing lots of things, we realize that we can all find what suits us in yoga, and get the well-being and joy it can provide.

Where/how do you practice?

When I can, where I can! I try to go to the studio to practice once or twice a week: letting someone else guide me, without thinking, for a whole hour, is enriching and continues to nourish my practice (and my teaching!). The rest of the time, it's often 10 to 30 minutes, here and there, when I have a little gap in my schedule, but I try to make it happen at least once a day!

What is your mantra/favourite phrase?

"How Soon Is Now?"

This title of the Smiths song, printed on a yoga t-shirt that I have had for years and love, reminds me to focus on the present moment, me who has this tendency to anticipate and get impatient!

Maria Blinova - Tayrona Yoga

Portrait of a Naturopathic Yogini: Maria Blinova

Let me introduce you to Maria Blinova, certified in naturopathy and passionate about ecology.

Her favorite color is orange and she collects everything that makes her feel good. It was Saint-Exupéry who taught her to answer this rather banal presentation question, in a different and unexpected way. Maria has her head a little in the stars, she is also optimistic and dreamy, but at the same time she is very perfectionist and rigorous in her life projects. Regular physical activity, a diet adapted to her needs and beliefs, healthy relaxation and sleep, a fulfilling family life allow her to maintain the inner balance between these sometimes contradictory character traits.

Recently certified in Naturopathy, she was finally able to lay scientific foundations for her knowledge and practices present since her early childhood. Their 4-month-old daughter and their installation project with her husband who is a specialist in permaculture occupy them today on a daily basis.

Next year they would like to open a place of ecological education, a place of welcome and sharing, of well-being and connection to nature in the Grenoble region. But before realizing it they will do a little road by electric bike in France to meet the actors of the ecological transition, to be inspired, learn and exchange on the subjects of well-being, health, alternative education, agroforestry and permaculture.

It was only natural that I asked him a few personal questions about his yoga practice, which I am sharing with you today.

How did you get to take care of yourself?

For me it's a question of education. My parents taught me to listen to myself and keep the connection with nature. I hope to be able to pass on this knowledge of living to my daughter and many others.

What practice for your well-being?

Good food hygiene. But not only when it comes to nutrition. It is also the supply of pure air, clean water, inspiring social contacts…

Regular physical activity: yoga is something I started practicing especially during pregnancy and that's how I discovered its wonderful benefits.

It was a time when I had to give up my favorite activities like running, mountain hiking, cycling and diving.

What is the ritual of your practice?

Right now it's my favorite time. In Corsica! Sun salutations at 6:30 in the morning, before my daughter wakes up and while my husband prepares our breakfast. On the wooden terrace, by the sea, overlooking the waves, the sun at my back, on my new Manduka Superlite yoga mat.

What do you get out of it?

I have noticed that with this ritual I approach my day in a much more relaxed way. The projects that we have at the moment with my partner demand a lot of time and energy, in addition to breastfeeding and sleep that I have not yet completely found since the birth of our daughter. So it is a ritual that allows me to remain calm and pleasant in front of myself and my environment, to keep my optimism and the energy to continue our path and explore new ones.

What do you carry in your yoga bag?

Manduka Superlite yoga mat, Hydrapak water bladder. (Made of biodegradable materials, odorless and tasteless)

What is your favorite object/accessory?

My mat! I spent a lot of time choosing it and got advice from Mathilde, a Naturopath and Yoga teacher friend, as well as Patricia.

There were many points to take into account in order to meet my requirements: lightness (because we are on the move a lot and I really like to do my sun salutations in unusual places), perfect adhesion, materials that are not harmful to the environment or to health, a pleasant color, a certain finesse in order to maintain the energetic connection to the ground.

What would be your advice for Tayrona Yoginis?

I hope that Tayrona Yoginis do not practice Yoga as a weekly physical activity, as stress management or as a means of weight loss following an inappropriate diet.

For me it is a more global philosophy of life that goes hand in hand with our way of consuming, of interacting with our environment, of taking responsibility for our actions and non-actions... It is a way of reconnecting with our surroundings and with ourselves, therefore listening to it, respecting it, caring for it and preserving it.

Where/how do you practice?

During pregnancy I practiced it in a small 9m2 room in the morning and evening. After giving birth it was mainly a morning activity, after running in our apartment. Now it is mainly a special moment that replaces other physical activities of the day. I alternate with running, cycling, hiking and swimming. This summer I will practice it in the gardens of permaculture farms all over France!

What is your mantra/favourite phrase?

"We see clearly only with our hearts; what is essential is invisible to the eyes."
“Be the change you wish to see in the world.”

Choisir son mantra - Tayrona Yoga

How to choose your mantra? It's very simple.

In yoga, mantra is at the heart of the practice as an aid to healing by improving the circulation of vital energy and allowing one to let go. As we are all unique, the same mantra will not have the same effects from one person to another. Discover the benefits of mantras in this article.
Lauranne Bondoerffer - Tayrona Yoga

Portrait of an energetic Yogi: Lauranne Bondoerffer

Let me introduce you to Lauranne Bondoerffer, a nurse for 6 years, an energy care practitioner and an Aloe Vera advisor.

Lauranne discovered yoga 4 years ago thanks to her twin sister who is a physiotherapist and yoga teacher. The well-being of people has always been essential to her through her profession as a nurse and now through energy treatments and Aloe Vera. Energy treatments allow people who want to feel better to return to their essence, to who they really are by working on cellular memories as well as clearing away everything that no longer needs to be. Bringing lightness and radiance back to your life. Aloe Vera pulp helps detoxify the body and alleviate all somatizations of the human body. Giving it a boost of vitality. Getting the machine going again. Her latest project in progress is training to become a yoga teacher and to be able to take care of a person in their entirety: physical and emotional.

It was only natural that I asked him a few personal questions about his yoga practice, which I am sharing with you today.

How did you get to take care of yourself?

Since life is not a long quiet river ... I found myself in the trough of the wave several times (like anyone else.) My bull and tenacious side allowed me to try to get out of it as quickly as possible, life being too short to stay down there. Through reading, meetings, exchanges and my former job as a nurse I learned a lot about life and I also learned to discover myself. To know who I really was. A lot of questioning about myself and all the beliefs with which I was able to evolve during my life. I realized that no one could take better care of me than myself ... so I started the machine, one thing leading to another ...

What practice for your well-being?

Listening to yourself, to your desires. The main key to well-being for me. Being able to act in line with who I am and what I want. Each person being different (thank goodness) we will never all have the same desires at the same time. On the other hand, everyone can listen to themselves to shine more!

Here's what works for me:

Mindfulness in everyday life,
Thank you for what life offers me and brings me every day

Nature and sport: since I arrived in Annecy I have this need to be outside as much as possible... in the mountains! That's where I feel best, where I clear my head, where I recharge my batteries, where I calm down.

Love: friends, family. Knowing how to surround yourself well is essential for my balance. "Alone we go faster, together we go further"

Having a job in which I thrive and shine. Because at the moment, work represents 80% of our time... if we are not happy in our work, it is difficult to be happy in our daily lives!

Eat good foods that excite each of my cells, like the epicurean of life that I am! Here are some ingredients to RADIATE in your life.

What is the ritual of your practice?

Take a few breaths, find inner calm, clear my mind in order to reconnect with my inner voice and be able to act as accurately as possible in my daily life. It keeps me from getting lost!

And I ask a lot of questions to find solutions that I don't have, or simply so that what happens in my life is even better than what happens to me!

I practice positive thinking a lot! It changes life!! It becomes lighter. Try it, you'll see!

What do you get out of it?

Calmness, clairvoyance, a certain freedom, a lightness

What do you carry in your yoga bag?

Aloe vera pulp to hydrate my body as best as possible during the sessions, provide the vitamins and minerals lost through perspiration during the session, allow optimal recovery to avoid aches and pains and amplify the detox of the yoga session!

What is your favorite object/accessory?

I don't really have any...

What would be your advice for Tayrona Yoginis?

LISTEN to yourself! Listen to that little voice inside you that is just asking to be listened to. It alone knows what is good for you! No one else!! Practice yoga and meditation (even active) to (re)find yourself and thus be able to shine. As Katy Misson would say, “return to your essence”. Take care of yourself a little bit every day. Even if it’s only 5 minutes! It becomes addictive and we attract beautiful things later.

Where/how do you practice?

I practice everywhere and all the time. Yoga is not just posture, it is also mindfulness. Becoming aware of everything around us. Loving and savoring. Seeing all the positive that life brings us every day, even in the more "down" moments. Relearning to feel, listen to the outside but also what is happening inside us. Contemplating the landscape during a hike, feeling the water sliding on my skin when I go swimming in the lake, feeling my feet slide when I go skiing, paying attention to the effects that certain foods can have on me ... all this is YOGA for me. It is a way of living and understanding things.

What is your mantra/favourite phrase?

"Life is well made. Nothing happens by chance, but at the right time. In every negative situation, something positive comes out of it."
"You are the only master of your happiness"

Importance de la respiration - Tayrona Yoga

Why is breathing important in yoga practice?

Have you ever tried yoga? It is a body-mind practice that in my opinion allows you to relax well, if you are often prey to stress. Yogi's perform postures, called asanas. But, know that it does not stop at simple positions, human breathing being essential in yoga. Breathing represents life, because it allows the body to survive by recharging with oxygen and releasing CO². Unfortunately, this is often unconscious, poorly done or too fast. So what am I going to talk to you about here? The breathing in yoga that I want to show you here, is called Prânâyâma, is conscious, deep and provides several virtues.

Prânâyâma: the art of breathing in yoga

A bit of etymology! In Sanskrit, Prânâyâma means energy (Prana) and vitality (Ayama). But, you are not more advanced. It is the practice of breathing through exercises allowing to control and consciously direct the Prana energy.

Just like me, you may experience a period where you are more stressed or anxious. It's human, right? As a result, your breathing is more jerky and short. You may even feel bad. In my opinion, good abdominal breathing is slow and conscious.

Yoga breathing is a fundamental principle in the practice of yoga. The postures are always associated with the yogic breathing that gives them rhythm. One does not go without the other. Without Prana energy, yoga would not exist. As this is brought by the breath, breathing is important. Logical, right? Breathing helps to circulate vital energy in the body, providing several benefits for good health:

- You feel more physically fit,

- You are more zen,

- It helps you lower your blood pressure and eliminate toxins,

- You can concentrate more easily,

- Your blood circulation is improved,

- Your self-confidence is increased,

- Your mind is clearer,

- You fight certain diseases more effectively.

Now, a little practice. Pranayama breathing is done through the nose while concentrating on your breath. First, you exhale and release the excess air from your lungs. Then, you inhale the outside air called Prana. Your breaths are deep and slow. The exhalations are twice as long. After an inhalation and exhalation, take a breathing pause for a few seconds. Know that there are various breaths in yoga .

In the jungle of yogic breathing

Full breath

If you had to remember just one, it would be this one, because it is the most well-known yoga breathing . It combines abdominal, thoracic and clavicular breathing. You inhale from the bottom up (stomach, ribs, collarbones) and the same for exhalation.

Alternate Nostril Breathing

In a seated position, close one nostril and then practice full breathing . Do this by alternating the nostrils. Inhale through the one that is open and then exhale through the one that is closed. This breath stimulates one hemisphere of the brain and then the other.

Solar breathing

This is the method par excellence to diffuse Prana energy throughout the body. Solar breathing is complete, standing or sitting, but in addition with arm movements following the breath. When inhaling, your limbs rise from the belly to above the head, forming a circle. A breathing pause follows.

So, you know what? My advice in times of stress, adopt conscious breathing especially during a yoga session. Do not hesitate to read the article on the benefits of yoga for more information on the advantages of the practice.

Ana Maria Lopez - Tayrona Yoga

Portrait of a Colombian Yogini: Ana Maria Lopez

Ana is a former professional dancer in France and Colombia.

She is currently a Hatha Yoga teacher. She trained at the Sankara Yoga school with a sports specialization dedicated to competition, body arts professionals and martial arts practitioners.

She is now also in charge of the Development Center within a private sports structure, located in Vincennes, Au Garage Club (a room is dedicated to the practice of Thai Boxing, but which offers a certain number of complementary disciplines, such as Cross Training, English Boxing, MMA, floor bar and Hatha Yoga). She also has a tattoo parlor and a food and cosmetics store, according to an ecological and sustainable ethical charter. Having always kept a practice of dance, enriched by the practice of martial arts and recently by the practice of Hatha Yoga, Ana Maria Lopez Wilches, by joining the structure Au Garage Club , can then implement both the teaching of body practices and the support of projects through Action Research.

It was only natural that I asked him a few personal questions about his yoga practice, which I am sharing with you today.

How did you get to take care of yourself?

As a child and then as a teenager I practiced dance to become a professional, this discipline trained and educated me; I learned to feed myself and take care of myself to become a beautiful dancer...

What practice for your well-being?

I am a dancer first and foremost; Hatha Yoga has transformed my life and my dance. I practice Hatha Yoga taught by my masters, the Gianfermi brothers, from the Sankara Yoga school in Paris.

What is the ritual of your practice?

Between 4 and 5 in the morning I do ablutions, then I light a candle in my practice space where I have an altar with objects and images, then I start with my sun salutations, then a series of asanas, then pranayama techniques and finally a time of meditation.

What do you get out of it?

It's hard to say in a few words; I take up key axes of Yogic realization: power, beauty, virtue, knowledge and love... I have an 11-year-old child who also practices every morning, Yoga allows me to transmit to him a great knowledge about his body. A medicine too...

What do you carry in your yoga bag?

Just my stuff, I'm in transit too much to take care of a personal mat...because I also have my dance stuff, office stuff, makeup, shopping for the house...

What is your favorite object/accessory?

I work without accessories; except when I can, a candle is a good companion for practicing...

What would be your advice for Tayrona Yoginis?

Apart from practicing every day, I have no other advice to give; that's the only thing that matters, every day even 15/20 minutes. Consistency is a wonderful ally.

Where/how do you practice?

As I said before, early in the morning at my home. Then I practice with my beloved masters who are a gift of life, then when I give classes...

Chanter le OM - Tayrona Yoga

Chanting the mantra OM, what does it mean?

An O and an M ! But what is it for? Found in various religions, OM or AUM is a mantra, that is to say a sound repeated several times in order to derive benefits for the body and mind. Chanting OM helps to circulate vital energy throughout the entire fleshly envelope. These two letters represent the formula corresponding to the root chakra (first chakra). This surely reminds you of Kundalini yoga, because the link between this practice and the mantra is thin. In Hinduism, the sound AUM designates the original vibration, source of all beginnings of the universe and it is therefore the most important mantra. It is notably used as a suffix or prefix to the various formulated mantras. Its practice is useful for connecting to universal consciousness.

Chase away negative thoughts with the mantra AUM :

Chanting OM creates a characteristic vibration that calms your mind, your little voice that only tells you not very nice things. How? It inhibits a part of the brain: the limbic system also called the emotional brain. So, you can concentrate, be at peace and enjoy life, while being in the present moment. You will be able to breathe and relax. Ideal for those of you who are nervous, depressed and scattered.

It may even be that your social relationships are simplified. When practicing group yoga, reciting a mantra creates harmony with other yogis.

Recite OM for a healthy body:

Chanting AUM is the best way to get the body into vibration, especially at the level of the organs, tissues, glands and cells, which allows for optimal functioning, because vital functions are slowed down in order to preserve energy. For example, thanks to the mantra OM your heart rate is lowered, pulmonary gas exchange is better and the breathing muscles are lengthened. What could be better than a healthy and rebalanced body just by reciting a syllable? But, even more, your body is relaxed and harmonized.

Pronounce it yes, but how to chant om correctly?

Pronouncing OM is done in 4 stages. A for awareness of the external world or the waking state. O for awareness of the inner world or dreaming. And finally, M for experiencing unity or deep sleep. But what is the 4th phase then? Quite simply silence.

You will tell me, it is not complicated to recite OM , but think again. To benefit from the virtues of the sound, you have to sing it as it should be.

- Start by inhaling deeply through your nose, nothing difficult so far,

- Then, exhale while pronouncing AUUUU..., mouth open while vibrating your vocal cords until your lungs are empty. A uniform sound please,

- And since it's not over yet, when exhaling, tighten your abs and close your mouth while reciting the letter M.

Anaïs Castelo Sauvier - Tayrona Yoga

Portrait of a yogi passionate about nutrition: Anaïs Castello Sauvier

I present to you Anaïs Castello Sauvier, dietician-nutritionist and phytotherapist for 10 years.

She is originally from Clermont-Ferrand, and moved to Annecy a year ago to follow her friend. She has been working for 6 years now with the NaturHouse brand, a pioneer in the field of basic dietetics. She starts from the principle that you have to "eat everything without depriving yourself and in reasonable quantities".

Within its brand, each follow-up is set up by a state-certified dietician nutritionist. During each consultation, the dietician immerses herself in the person, their lifestyle, their aversions, their psychological or pathological history but also their family history. At Natur House, the principle is that everyone has a different microbiota and that a food plan must be adapted according to this, specific to each person so that each person is able to maintain their ideal weight on a daily basis and in the long term. The brand also benefits from its own phytotherapy laboratory.

Aspiring to the same values, Anaïs naturally decided to set up a food rebalancing center, initially in Clermont-Ferrand and then in Annecy. Today, she has a monopoly in this field in Annecy-le-Vieux and soon in Annecy with three centers. Her goal is really for people to be aware that they are there as health professionals to help them through their follow-ups and weekly dietary advice but also through their kindness. Anaïs' yogi side always takes over. Her best accomplishment is when the people she follows leave her home having relearned how to eat healthily without frustration, taking pleasure in listening to themselves and finally having confidence in themselves.... What a wonderful job and it's not about to stop for her!

It was only natural that I asked him a few personal questions about his yoga practice, which I am sharing with you today.

How did you get to take care of yourself?

"Taking care of yourself" is a statement that seems simple, but yet very complex to implement, the awareness that you have to take care of yourself for us but also for my loved ones who wanted to see me in good health and full of energy. Paradoxically, it was by letting myself be overwhelmed by events, by my life at a thousand miles an hour that one day I realized that to be persuasive on a daily basis towards my patients, I had to first of all apply a benevolent framework towards myself. It started by doing sports such as running regularly, then by giving myself at least 15 minutes each day to meditate, to become aware of ME, of who I really am, to listen to myself to
then simply arrive at a regular yoga practice, which I grant and impose on myself daily at a rate of 30 min. "Grant and impose" an oxymoron signifying my feelings, indeed, daily I sometimes lack the enthusiasm to grant myself such moments because of everyday concerns but after my yoga stance, I become aware of the real priorities to bounce back better!

What practice for your well-being?

Waking up gently, drinking my glass of warm water with lemon, doing a yoga session facing the lake (I am lucky to have a breathtaking view of this pretty gem), then having a good breakfast, then taking my break
tea in the morning. What a beautiful day!

What is the ritual of your practice?

Coming to Annecy, following a partnership with my NaturHouse food rebalancing centers, I met Caroline, a friend who is in charge of organizing the academy and with whom I immediately shared the same ideas.
So it was quite natural that I signed up for the Satiam Academy, where I then discovered Elodie Lanterme, a yoga teacher and above all a person full of kindness! She made me fall in love with her practice, she allows me to let go for the time of a practice to bring out all my positive energy and face my week! So apart from my daily appointments between me and my mat, I practice at the academy 2 times a week or even 3 when my schedule allows me!

What do you get out of it?

A feeling of well-being, I am drained, I no longer have this permanent knot in my stomach, a break to better start my day again.

What do you carry in your yoga bag?

Nothing crazy! I'm more the type to walk around with lots of "bundles" to each of my appointments, with the great risk of forgetting something!
When I go to practice it's the opposite, I don't want to be encumbered with anything, my leeging, socks for the beginning and end of the class because my feet are always cold :-), a small bottle of water for after my practice and hop!

What is your favorite object/accessory?

A silver chain with the root chakra as a pendant.

What would be your advice for Tayrona Yoginis?

Be proud of who you are and what you accomplish every day.

Where/how do you practice?

I created a very cozy room for myself in which I can meditate and practice, otherwise I practice at the Satiam Academy and at YUJ in Paris when I have to go there.

What is your mantra/favourite phrase?

There is one that resonates particularly strongly as I write to you:

"I never lose, either I win or
I'm learning" thanks Nelson Mandela :-)!

Thank you for your trust, my second goal? To get one of your magnificent Eco-Responsible Mats for an even better practice!
